In his review for IGN, critic Jarrod Jones notes that, "While the pairing of Cockle’s Geralt and Joey Batey’s Jaskier has its charms, only diehards will appreciate the appeal of this Witcher crossover." This animated venture could be a delightful interlude for fans eagerly awaiting The Witcher 4.

Sirens of the Deep adapts the short story "A Little Sacrifice" from Andrzej Sapkowski's second Witcher book, Sword of Destiny. The movie is set between episodes 5 and 6 of Season 1 of the Netflix show. Here’s the official synopsis:

Hired to investigate attacks on a seaside village, the mutant monster hunter Geralt uncovers an ancient conflict between humans and sea people that threatens to escalate into war between kingdoms. With the help of his allies, he must solve the mystery before tensions boil over.

What Else Is in The Witcher Universe? The Witcher saga began as a series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, centered around the monster hunter Geralt in a world inspired by Slavic mythology. Inspired by these books, CD Projekt Red launched the first Witcher game in 2007. The series, especially The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been critically acclaimed, leading to numerous spin-offs and collaborations, including a real-life version of the Gwent card game. The Witcher 4 and its new protagonist were announced at the 2024 Game Awards.

Netflix entered the fray in 2019 with its live-action adaptation, producing three seasons so far, with Henry Cavill starring as Geralt. The upcoming fourth season, debuting in April, will introduce Liam Hemsworth in the iconic role.
