EA's highly anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game is set to be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration 2025. This exciting development comes from Bit Reactor, a studio formed by veterans of Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the acclaimed XCOM series. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Star Wars Jedi developer Respawn Entertainment on this project, and they are now ready to showcase their creation to the world.
The first glimpse of this untitled Star Wars strategy game is scheduled for April 19, 2025, during a live panel at Star Wars Celebration. The panel will feature the lead development team from Bit Reactor, alongside representatives from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.
Face-Off: Which Star Wars Video Game Is the Best?
While details about the game remain scarce, including the specific Star Wars era it will be set in and the precise mechanics of its gameplay, the involvement of former XCOM developers suggests a tactical experience infused with the rich lore of the Star Wars universe.
Respawn Entertainment, known for their work on the Star Wars Jedi series, is also developing the third installment in their Star Wars Jedi trilogy. However, there is no indication that this game will be featured at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Respawn had been working on another Star Wars project, an untitled first-person shooter rumored to feature a Mandalorian protagonist, but it was canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA that resulted in approximately 670 job losses. Additionally, earlier in March, Respawn canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project, affecting an undisclosed number of staff members.
At Star Wars Celebration, fans can also look forward to a sneak peek at the upcoming movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, set to release in May 2026, and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
