Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Remember this 2019 release? This time, it's hitting mobile, but will it be a refined re-release or a simple port? Let's investigate.
The game plunges you into the gritty, yet comical, 1970s – a decade seemingly defined by urban decay, stylish gangs, inexplicably falling turkeys, and killer sharks (at least according to movies!). As Bob Leaner, your job is to erase the mob's violent handiwork: bodies, bloodstains, and any other incriminating evidence. All while dodging the police, naturally.
Our 2019 review described the original Serial Cleaner as "half-baked but with potential." Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing a mobile version, suggesting a chance for improvement.
A Fresh Coat of Paint?
Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. Whether this will be a significantly enhanced version remains uncertain. While substantial improvements would be welcome, given the time elapsed since the original release, that might be optimistic.
The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile port feels somewhat underwhelming. However, Android users who missed out, or iOS players experiencing compatibility issues, might consider this an early gift.
