Excitement is building as HBO has officially announced that The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, April 13 at 9pm ET/PT, and will be available to stream on Max. This eagerly anticipated season will consist of seven episodes, and to heighten the anticipation, HBO has released striking new character posters featuring Joel, Ellie, and Abby.
Set five years after the gripping events of the first season, The Last of Us Season 2 continues the journey of Joel and Ellie, now residing with Joel's brother Tommy in their Montana commune. This season will delve into the narrative of the second game in the series, The Last of Us Part II, promising fans a familiar yet thrilling continuation of the saga.
Joining the returning stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie are fresh faces that will bring the story to life. Kaitlyn Dever steps in as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Tati Gabrielle as Nora. Notably, Gabrielle is also set to star as the main protagonist in Naughty Dog's upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The first season of The Last of Us was a resounding success for HBO, garnering critical acclaim and multiple awards. Created by the acclaimed duo of Craig Mazin, known for Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog, the series swept the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and was nominated for five Primetime Emmys, including categories such as Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Outstanding Director, and Outstanding Writing.
