"Rune Slayer: A Beginner's Ultimate Guide"

Author : Aria Apr 22,2025

After two failed launches and months of anticipation, Rune Slayer has finally hit the shelves, and it's nothing short of glorious. Whether you're a seasoned MMORPG player or a newcomer, there's a lot to unpack in this immersive world. Don't fret—we've crafted a comprehensive guide to jumpstart your adventure in Rune Slayer.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some invaluable tips we wish we had known from the start to ease your journey:

Do not randomly attack other players

When the news broke that Rune Slayer would feature full-loot PvP, we feared it might turn into a chaotic free-for-all. However, our fears were largely unfounded. **Dying in Rune Slayer, even to another player, doesn't mean you lose anything.** You simply respawn and carry on.

But there's a catch: **if you attack other players, you earn a bounty.** The more players you kill, the higher your bounty, and the higher the bounty, the **more items you'll drop upon death.** Essentially, you can turn Rune Slayer into a full-loot PvP game by engaging in player kills, but be prepared to face the consequences.

Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group of friends to support you in your endeavors.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that both your **bank and inventory spaces are quite limited.** With a mere 50-item capacity, your inventory can fill up in the blink of an eye. Fortunately, the game allows you to **craft bags** to expand your storage. You can equip up to two bags at a time, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, gather **Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**—though be cautious of the mobs in the southern regions. Each Cotton Bag adds 10 extra slots, so prioritize crafting these as soon as possible.

Your pets don’t actually die

There's a common misconception that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. This isn't the case. **When a pet "dies," it simply becomes unsummonable for 5 minutes.** You can check the cooldown by holding **T**.

Once the cooldown is over, hold **T** again to summon your pet back. **For a quick heal, store and unstore your pet at the stable master** using the one free slot available.

Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)

Rune Slayer is packed with numerous quests, many of which are non-repeatable and often indistinguishable from one another. They typically involve standard tasks like "Kill 10 X."

To manage this efficiently, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is more effective than tackling them one by one, and you might even find yourself completing several quests unknowingly.

Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)

Prioritize crafting what you need, but don't hesitate to use **spare materials to craft items you don't immediately require.** Crafting new items for the first time often unlocks more advanced crafting options. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of Iron Armor crafts for us. So, experiment with your materials and keep crafting.

Join a Guild

Rune Slayer is well-suited for solo play, but as you delve deeper, you'll encounter **challenging enemies** designed for group combat. The simplest way to find a group is through a **guild**.

Announce your need for a guild in the general chat or connect with one via the official Rune Slayer Discord server. Joining a guild will give you the camaraderie and support needed to tackle the game's toughest foes.

That wraps up our beginner's guide to Rune Slayer. Dive into the adventure, and don't forget to explore the Rune Slayer Trello and Discord for more tips and community engagement.
