Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, and following the main event, company co-founder Marc Merrill sat down with Stephen Totilo to share his vision for the future. One of Merrill's primary aspirations is to bring an expansive MMO to life within the rich universe of League of Legends and Arcane. This project, which consumes a significant portion of his time, reflects his passion for the MMO genre. He believes that this dedication, coupled with the League of Legends community's deep desire to explore their beloved world more thoroughly, could be the key to the game's success.

While Merrill is excited about the project, he kept the details under wraps, including any potential release dates. In a light-hearted moment, he mentioned hoping the MMO would launch before humanity sets foot on Mars, though he offered no concrete timeline.

In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another title set in the League of Legends universe: 2XKO, a much-anticipated fighting game. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already been showcased in trailers and is slated for release before the year's end, much to the excitement of fans who have been eagerly awaiting this addition to the franchise.
