In-Game Trading
If you're in the same game instance as another player, right-clicking their character and selecting "Trade" initiates a direct exchange. Both players choose their offered items, and upon mutual agreement, the trade is confirmed.
Alternatively, you can coordinate trades via global chat or direct messages. Right-click a player's name in chat, invite them to your party, teleport to their location, and then right-click to initiate the trade.

Path of Exile 2 features an online trade site (link omitted for brevity, but readily available online) functioning as an auction house. Access requires a linked PoE account.
To purchase, use the site's filters to locate desired items. Clicking "Direct Whisper" sends an in-game message to the seller to arrange a meeting and complete the transaction.
Selling requires a Premium Stash Tab (purchasable in-game). Place your item in the tab, set it to "Public," and optionally set a price via right-click. The item will then automatically appear on the trade site. Buyers will contact you in-game to finalize the trade.
