According to Capcom's press release, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* is described as a dark fantasy action game set in a historical context, featuring one of Japan's most renowned figures. Interestingly, Musashi's character model in the game is inspired by the iconic Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, who famously portrayed Musashi in samurai films.
The game's narrative unfolds in Kyoto, a city overtaken by an evil force called Malic, which is summoning Hell and its denizens into Japan. This marks the first new entry in the *Onimusha* series in two decades. To build anticipation, Capcom has also announced the release of a remastered version of *Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny*, set to launch on May 23, 2025.
