NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After landing and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.
The two-handed weapon, the Virtuous Treaty, is quite powerful but temporarily lost after the prologue. However, you can quickly reacquire it once free-roaming is unlocked in the next chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is located near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To the left, you'll see a highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb onto the road. This path leads back towards the factory.
Descend into the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point and stairs leading upwards. To the left in this upper area, you'll spot the destroyed bridge where you fought the Goliath enemy. The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge.
Your previous body is located just to the right of the sword, allowing you to recover any remaining consumables from the prologue.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2
Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels at wide-sweeping attacks, dealing significant damage to multiple enemies. Its attack speed is slower, however. Upgrades can potentially make this weapon one of the highest-damage options in the game, provided you adapt to its slower pace. You can also incorporate it into combos with faster weapons by using a heavy attack during their sequences. While this prevents a full Virtuous Treaty combo, it leverages its high damage output to compensate for its slower speed.
