Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Gets Extra 24 Hours After PSN Outage

Author : Riley Apr 04,2025

Capcom has announced an extension for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a significant PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted the previous test session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. In response to the outage, Sony compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.

The downtime severely impacted online gaming, including single-player games that required server authentication or a constant internet connection. Among the affected titles was the highly anticipated second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9. Due to the PSN outage, the session was cut short, prompting Capcom to extend the next beta session by 24 hours.

The revised schedule for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta is now set to start on Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT and will conclude on Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59 am GMT. During this extended period, participants will still be eligible to earn the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game, as confirmed by Capcom.

Despite the challenges posed by the PSN outage, players were able to engage with the game's new formidable adversary, Arkveld, during the beta. Monster Hunter Wilds is slated for a full release on February 28, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
