Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide
Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, enjoying renewed popularity thanks to Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after witnessing an anomaly eliminate a nosalis horde; Khan uses a railcar to reach the next station, where "Cursed" commences.
Locating the Bomb
After exiting the railcar, follow Khan to the defenders at the barricaded escalators. They'll explain an explosives crew's failed attempt to collapse the tunnel, leaving the bomb unaccounted for. Your task: find and detonate it. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows; they'll damage Artyom. Retrieve the bomb and either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if needed.
Destroying the Tunnel
To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb will achieve the same result. Note: nosalises will still infiltrate via other routes.
Securing the Airlock
Even with the tunnel destroyed, an airlock remains a potential entry point. As mentioned by Khan, it's located upstairs, in the torchlit area. Ignore the nosalises and interact with the support columns to plant a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances sealed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room, initiating the "Armory" mission.
