Marvel SNAP's initial Spotlight Cache card for 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing character that enhances cards generated within your hand. While often categorized as a card-generation archetype staple, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks as well. This guide presents two robust Victoria Hand decks, one for each archetype, allowing for strategic adaptation to the current SNAP metagame.

Victoria Hand (2–3)

Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.

Victoria Hand Deck Synergies

  • Victoria Hand boosts cards added to your hand by card generators.
  • Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl serve as your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards, enhancing buffs or disrupting opponents.)
  • Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards, enabling more efficient plays.
  • The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
  • Cosmo acts as a tech card, protecting the Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand lane from most enemy attacks.
  • Devil Dinosaur is your primary win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or with numerous generated cards in hand.

Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or those that change locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card description requires clarification. Regardless, it's a factor to consider when using Victoria Hand decks.

Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay

Successful Victoria Hand deck utilization hinges on these key points:

  1. Energy Management: Balance card generation and energy expenditure. A full hand maximizes Devil Dinosaur's potential, but sufficient space for card generation and Victoria Hand's effect is crucial. Efficient energy use is paramount; sometimes skipping turns to maintain a full hand outweighs filling the board.
  2. Strategic Deception: Utilize unexpected card plays to mislead opponents. Victoria Hand decks generate random cards; strategically deploying these can mask your intentions and maintain opponent uncertainty.
  3. Ongoing Lane Protection: Opponents often target the Victoria Hand lane with tech cards like Enchantress. Counter this by placing Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand in the same lane (creating an Ongoing synergy) and shielding them with Cosmo.

Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand

Victoria Hand is also proving effective in refined discard decks within the current meta. For a powerful discard deck, pair Victoria Hand with: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.

Countering Victoria Hand

Super Skrull is currently a strong counter to Victoria Hand. Many players use Doctor Doom 2099 decks, which Skrull complements, making him a versatile tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.

Other counters include Shadow King and Enchantress. Shadow King removes Victoria Hand's buffs from a single lane, while Enchantress negates her buffs entirely by removing all Ongoing effects. Valkyrie, strategically placed in a crucial enemy lane, can also disrupt their Power distribution.

Is Victoria Hand a Valuable Acquisition?

Victoria Hand is a worthwhile addition to any collection. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. While her effectiveness relies somewhat on randomness, her permanent buffs facilitate consistent deck building. Her compatibility with multiple archetypes, like card-generation and discard, makes her a highly valuable asset for many players.
