NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals enthusiasts: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of the game's ongoing seasons. This was revealed by the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, in an interview with Metro. Chen emphasized the commitment to releasing a new playable character every half-season, which translates to a new hero approximately every six weeks.
"Every season we'll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We'll actually be breaking down each season into two halves," Chen explained. "The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community."
As each season concludes, fans are left eagerly anticipating who the next hero will be. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls set the stage with the introduction of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second half, scheduled for release in a few weeks. These iconic characters have made a strong impact, but maintaining this momentum will be a significant challenge for NetEase.
The game launched with an impressive roster featuring heroes like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. Rumors suggest that Blade may join the lineup in Season 2, and fans are hopeful to see characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men members in future updates. With the success Marvel Rivals has already achieved, NetEase shows no signs of slowing down their expansion plans.
Alongside new hero releases, Marvel Rivals Season 1 introduced numerous balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates promised for the future.
