What's MageTrain Like?
In MageTrain, you command a dynamic line of heroes that snake their way through an arena, much like the classic Snake game. Each hero automatically attacks, and your task is to strategically maneuver them to avoid collisions with enemies and obstacles. You have control over the order of your heroes, which is crucial because their abilities shift based on their position in the train.
At launch, MageTrain boasts nine unique heroes, one of whom amusingly throws birds. Each hero brings distinct skills to the table, influenced by their role in the lineup. As you navigate through eight diverse dungeons, you'll encounter 28 enemy types and have access to 30 different skills to bolster your team. Along the way, you'll collect gold and power-ups to enhance your gameplay.
The roguelike nature of MageTrain ensures that no two runs are the same. You'll face branching paths, make strategic choices about upgrades, and strive to survive as long as possible. Similar to games like Slay the Spire or FTL, there are no set levels, and you can't save your progress mid-run. One wrong move or an overwhelming enemy wave can send you back to the start, but that's part of the challenge.
