Lunar DLC for Cyberpunk 2077: Unreleased Space Details Revealed

Fans of *Cyberpunk 2077* were once tantalized by the prospect of an ambitious DLC set in space, specifically on the Moon. This project, although ultimately shelved, has been brought to light through the diligent work of blogger and dataminer SirMZK, who has pieced together leaks and files from the game’s code to reveal CD Projekt RED’s grand vision for this cosmic expansion.

Delving into the game’s files, one can find references to lunar surface maps, structured zones such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model of a rover. The Moon location was envisioned to be vast, potentially covering a quarter of the size of Night City, and designed as an open-world environment. This would have significantly expanded the gameplay experience, whisking players away from the neon-lit streets of Night City to explore the lunar landscape.

A highlight of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. Though it didn't make it into the final game, players can catch a fleeting glimpse of the Crystal Palace in one of the game's endings when V gazes out of a spaceship window. Moreover, the files unearthed a prototype for a zero-gravity bar, linked to a cut quest named 201, which was part of the Arasaka storyline.

There is a glimmer of hope among fans that these intriguing concepts might find their way into CD Projekt RED's upcoming project, *Orion*, which aims to further expand the *Cyberpunk* universe. However, there has been no official word from the studio about incorporating these shelved ideas.

While the Moon DLC remains a distant dream for now, the uncovered details offer a captivating glimpse into what could have been—a daring venture for *Cyberpunk 2077* into uncharted territory, seamlessly blending space exploration with the game’s distinctive cyberpunk aesthetic.
