LEGO Game Boy Arrives October 2025
Nintendo has revealed its newest LEGO project – a detailed Game Boy model! Launching in October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES set. The announcement on X (formerly Twitter) has, predictably, sparked a flurry of speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2. Some users humorously interpreted the news as a console reveal, while others pointed out the ironic timing.
While details on the Switch 2 remain scarce, Nintendo President Furukawa confirmed on May 7, 2024, that a successor to the Switch would be announced within the current fiscal year (ending March 2025).
The price of the LEGO Game Boy is yet to be announced, but further information is expected soon.
A History of Nintendo and LEGO Collaborations
Beyond the NES, Nintendo and LEGO have previously joined forces to create sets featuring iconic characters from beloved franchises like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.
In May 2024, a 2,500-piece LEGO set recreating the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild was released, complete with Princess Zelda and the Master Sword. This set retails at $299.99 USD.
Following this, a Super Mario World LEGO set featuring Mario riding Yoshi was launched. This unique set uses a crank mechanism to animate Yoshi's leg movement and is priced at $129.99 USD.
