Insomniac Embarks on Early Production for Marvel

Insomniac's New Job Listing Hints at Early Development of Marvel's Spider-Man 3

A recent job posting at Insomniac Games suggests the studio is in the early stages of production on a new AAA title. Speculation points towards this being Marvel's Spider-Man 3, given the studio's ongoing success with the Spider-Man franchise and the numerous plot threads left open in the critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2. While Insomniac has confirmed Spider-Man 3's existence, details remain scarce.

Previous leaks, including a large data breach following Spider-Man 2's release, mentioned a future Insomniac Spider-Man title. Other leaks hinted at potential character introductions in Spider-Man 3, although a release date remains years away.

A new job posting for a Senior UX Researcher highlights the early production phase of an unannounced AAA project. The researcher will be based at Insomniac's Burbank UX Lab for three months.

Spider-Man 3: The Most Likely Candidate

Considering previous leaks, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is the most plausible fit. Marvel's Wolverine, another Insomniac project, has reportedly been in development for years and is progressing smoothly. Rumors of a Venom-centric spin-off, a potential "half-sequel" to Spider-Man 2, suggest a possible release this year, making it unlikely to be in the early stages of development as described in the job listing.

This leaves either Spider-Man 3 or a new Ratchet and Clank game (reportedly slated for 2029) as the most likely candidates. Given Insomniac's current focus on expanding its Marvel universe, Spider-Man 3 appears to be the stronger contender.

While all of this remains speculative, the job listing confirms Insomniac is actively working on a new game in early production, which is undeniably exciting news for PlayStation fans.
