Exciting new developments have emerged regarding the upcoming Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris. According to the Disney Parks Blog, construction for this groundbreaking attraction is set to commence in Fall 2025. This ride will be a centerpiece of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. The Lion King-themed land promises to be an immersive experience, featuring a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and a variety of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet opportunities.
A recently released concept image showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also feature a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure. The Lion King ride is slated to open after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026, contributing to the expansive vision of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's footprint.
In addition to The Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will introduce several other attractions. These include the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed after Up, designed as a spinning carousel offering panoramic views of the park's stunning landscapes.
The grand opening of Disney Adventure World will also feature the World Premiere entrance, set to debut on May 15, 2025. This entrance aims to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, the World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End district, will house theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
