Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms Hogwarts Legacy Sequel
A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced its intention to create a sequel to the critically acclaimed Hogwarts Legacy, which has sold over 24 million copies since its release. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels highlighted the sequel as a top priority for the company, stating (as reported by Variety) that it will be a significant contributor to future growth.
Wiedenfels emphasized, "A successor to Hogwarts Legacy is definitely one of our biggest priorities in the next couple of years."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad spoke to Variety, noting the game's remarkable replayability as a key factor in its success. Haddad highlighted the game's high player engagement, stating, "Many players have revisited the game multiple times." He further expressed pride in the game's achievement, stating that it not only achieved impressive sales but also brought the Harry Potter world to life in a new and engaging way for gamers.
Haddad believes this immersive experience resonated deeply with the gaming community, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the best-selling charts—a position typically held by established franchises' sequels. He concluded, "We're incredibly proud to have broken into the top ranks."
Game8 was particularly impressed by the game's stunning visuals, describing it as the most visually captivating Harry Potter experience for fans. For a detailed review of Hogwarts Legacy from Game8, please follow the link below.
