Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Announces Open Arena Mode Testing

Unfrozen Games has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, offering a captivating glimpse into the game's core mechanics, diverse units, and overall strategic gameplay. The trailer accompanies the announcement of closed beta registration for the game's "Arena" mode. Players can request access via the Steam page, with testing running from March 17th to March 28th.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is slated for Steam Early Access launch in Q2 2025. At launch, players can expect six distinct factions, three engaging single-player modes, and three competitive multiplayer modes. Ubisoft is partnering with Unfrozen Games to bring this highly anticipated title to market.

Recently, the Dungeon faction was revealed, introducing a compelling roster of units including troglodytes, dark elves, minotaurs, medusas, hydras, and dragons. These units promise to introduce unique tactical considerations and significantly enhance the game's strategic depth.

The development team at Unfrozen Games acknowledged challenges in balancing the "Arena" mode, specifically addressing the complexities of hero and skill balancing within the constraints of limited starting resources and map space. They’ve confirmed these challenges have been successfully overcome, promising a polished and engaging competitive experience.

While a precise release date for the PC launch later this year remains unannounced, Unfrozen Games is diligently working to create a game accessible and enjoyable for both seasoned Heroes of Might & Magic veterans and newcomers to the series.
