Hearthstone Reveals StarCraft Mini-Set Details and Release Date

Hearthstone's eagerly anticipated Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set is set to launch on January 21, featuring a record-breaking 49 new cards. This Mini-Set marks the largest in Hearthstone's history, blending elements from Hearthstone and Blizzard's iconic StarCraft franchise. The set introduces a mix of class cards and multi-class StarCraft faction cards, including Zerg cards for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, which focus on summoning numerous Zerglings and using Hydralisks for swarm-based damage. On the other hand, the Protoss cards, available to Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, emphasize mana manipulation to facilitate the deployment of high-cost units like the Carrier. Meanwhile, Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes will explore the Starship mechanic from Hearthstone's The Great Dark Beyond set, with new Starship Pieces and a unique Mech-themed Starship.

The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, part of The Great Dark Beyond expansion, was first teased during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024. It wasn't until two months later that Hearthstone fully unveiled the details of this exciting crossover. The set comprises 49 cards, including three cards for each Hearthstone class, five cards for each StarCraft faction (one being a Legendary), and a neutral Legendary card named Grunty. Players can look forward to card reveals throughout the week leading up to the Mini-Set's release.

While the cards can be obtained from The Great Dark Beyond packs, a complete playset of the Heroes of StarCraft cards is available for $20 or 2500 gold, reflecting a slight increase over the standard Mini-Set pricing. An all-Golden version is offered for $80 or 12,000 gold. Alternatively, faction-specific packs for Protoss, Terran, or Zerg are available for $10 or 1200 gold.

To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two streaming events: StarCast on January 23 at 10 AM PST, featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft on January 24 at 9 AM PST, showcasing Hearthstone community creators in faction-based matches and mini-games. Viewers of these events on Twitch can earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs, adding extra incentive to tune in and engage with the community.
