Author : Charlotte Apr 25,2025

The March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria* introduced Essence Stones, a new type of item essential for several new gameplay features. To fully engage with the updated mechanics, you'll need to gather and use these stones efficiently. Let's delve into where to find them, how to craft them, and how to utilize them in the game.

After the March 2025 update, you can discover Essence Stones inside chests located in the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with one was during a search for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which can mimic chests and cause harm upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. The smaller stones are more common, but with thorough exploration, you can find the larger ones. If you struggle to find them, consider crafting them once you've built the Stone Refinery within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones becomes possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*. This new feature is tied to a story quest introduced with the March 2025 update, where you'll need to construct the refinery inside the mines with the help of Adeline, Olric, and Errol after completing necessary quests.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials varies depending on the size of the stone:

x5 Essence
Small Essence Stonex10 Stone
x25 Essence
Medium Essence Stonex20 Stone
x50 Essence
Large Essence Stonex40 Stone
x100 Essence

Besides Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft a variety of materials, including Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a vital hub for your crafting needs in *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

With the March 2025 update, *Fields of Mistria* introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, both of which require Essence Stones to function effectively. Larger stones provide a longer charge, making Large Essence Stones the most efficient choice for prolonged use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. When equipped with an Essence Stone, it automatically pets all animals inside daily. You can find this statue in a concealed cave next to Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, on the other hand, is enabled by the Water Sprite Statue. Placing it on your farm automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to cover more ground. Find the statue and a crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, accessible by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath on the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to find even more uses, enhancing your gameplay experience further.
