Sharp Fangs are a key crafting resource that you can start collecting early in *Monster Hunter Wilds* by exploring the Windward Plains at the beginning of your adventure. These fangs are crucial for forging beginner-tier gear sets, such as the Chatacabra and Talioth armor, enhancing your early-game experience.

To find Sharp Fangs, engage in one of the initial optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains, offering a generous 50-minute time frame to explore. It's wise to prepare by cooking and eating a meal before you set out on your expedition.

Once you're in the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. Although multiple creatures in this area can drop Sharp Fangs, your primary target should be:

Gaijos

Gaijos are small leviathan monsters that you can find near or in riverbeds, typically solitary. Their appearance is reminiscent of a crocodile with a uniquely shaped snout. Use the interactive map to locate them by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources.

Approach a Gaijos location and use your weapon to quickly dispatch these creatures, as they have relatively low health. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang.

Gaijos are a reliable source for Sharp Fangs, making them your top priority. You can expect to find around four to five Gaijos in the Windward Plains upon entering the region. To farm more Sharp Fangs, simply restart one of the Windward Plains optional quests.

Talioth

Another creature in the Windward Plains that may drop Sharp Fangs, albeit not as consistently, is the Talioth. These bipedal monsters roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally Area 13. They are slightly more challenging than Gaijos but manageable with starter weapons.

While carving Talioth carcasses, you might obtain Talioth Scales or other items, but there's also a chance to get Sharp Fangs. Additionally, by hunting Talioths, you can complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
