GOG Revives Dino Crisis Series for PC Gamers

Author : Nora Apr 18,2025

The beloved cult classics, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, have roared back to life with re-releases on PC through GOG. These survival horror gems, originally launched on the PlayStation, are now accessible on the CD Projekt-owned platform, completely DRM-free and preserving their original content as part of GOG's Preservation Program.

Capcom first introduced Dino Crisis in 1999 on the original PlayStation, followed by Dino Crisis 2 in the subsequent year. The series saw its last installment, Dino Crisis 3, as an Xbox exclusive in 2003. Despite fervent fan demand for a new entry or an HD remake, Capcom has shown little interest. The 2022 announcement of Exoprimal, a multiplayer action game featuring dinosaurs, was perceived by many as the final nail in the coffin for the Dino Crisis franchise. Furthermore, in August of last year, the series' creator, Shinji Mikami, stated that the success of Capcom’s Monster Hunter series leaves little room for a Dino Crisis reboot or remake.

Previously, accessing the PC ports of the first two Dino Crisis games was a challenge, often requiring significant effort to run on modern systems. GOG's efforts to bring these games back are thus highly appreciated.

GOG proudly stated, "Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Capcom and GOG, Regina’s iconic line, 'You’re extinct!' no longer applies to the game itself. The timeless thriller that defined a generation of gamers is made to last forever, enhanced for today’s systems, featuring all the original content you loved with numerous improvements."
