In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the game's expansive world map can be both a blessing and a curse. Initially, players explore a manageable portion of the map, which makes navigation straightforward. However, as you advance through the main storyline and unlock more provinces, getting around can become a time-consuming challenge. This issue is exacerbated by the continuous unlocking of new skirmishes and requests, often necessitating backtracking over vast areas of the map. Fortunately, mastering fast travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins can significantly streamline your journey, especially if you're aiming to tackle all the side content the game has to offer.
How to Fast Travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To fast travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, players need to utilize the Waymarks on the Map screen. Before you can fast travel to a Waymark, you must first unlock it. To do this, simply approach a Waymark on the world map and hold down the X button if you're on PlayStation, or the A button if you're using an Xbox controller. Once unlocked, the Waymark will appear on your map screen, allowing you to fast travel to it at any time.
To access the map when you're not in the midst of battle, you can either interact with an unlocked Waymark directly on the world map or pause the game and use the shoulder buttons to navigate to the Map menu. PlayStation users have an additional shortcut: simply press the Dual Sense touchpad while on the world map screen to quickly bring up the map, saving you precious seconds.
Once you're on the map screen, hovering over an unlocked Waymark will display any nearby key locations or battles. If you're searching for a specific battle or location, press the Square button on PlayStation or the X button on Xbox to toggle additional information. From there, use the Triangle button on PlayStation or the Y button on Xbox to cycle through a list of available battles and locations. Select the one you're interested in, and the cursor will move to the nearest Waymark, making your fast travel decision a breeze.
