Shiny Keldeo and Meltan are now available in Pokémon Home (version 3.2.2 and up), but acquiring them requires completing specific tasks. While challenging, obtaining Shiny Keldeo is particularly rewarding, as it was previously unobtainable legitimately and Shiny-locked. Both Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan can then be transferred to other connected Pokémon games.
Unlocking Shiny Keldeo in Pokémon Home
To receive Shiny Keldeo, you must complete the Galar Pokédex in Pokémon Sword & Shield, including entries from the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. Crucially, all Pokémon must possess the Galar origin mark (a slanted Poké Ball logo above the Pokémon's stats) indicating they originated from Sword & Shield or its DLC. Completing the Pokédexes within Sword & Shield itself is insufficient.
After completing the Pokédexes, select "Mystery Gift" from the main menu (accessed via the three-line menu icon).
There's no deadline for claiming Shiny Keldeo.
Unlocking Shiny Meltan in Pokémon Home
Similarly, obtaining Shiny Meltan requires completing the Kanto Pokédex in Pokémon Home using Pokémon possessing the Let's Go marker (a Pikachu silhouette above the stats). These Pokémon must originate from Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee.
Claim Shiny Meltan via the "Mystery Gift" option after completing the Kanto Pokédex. There's no time limit.
Troubleshooting Pokédex Registration Issues
Some mobile users experience Pokédex registration problems. To resolve this, clear the Pokémon Home app cache:
- Open the app and select the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner of the title screen.
- Choose "Clear Cache."
- Confirm by tapping "OK."
This process won't delete your game data.
