Digimon New Title Revealed Ahead of PlayStation Showcase

Author : George Feb 25,2025

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, will be revealed during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Pre-order listings for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions have surfaced on GameStop's website, although details remain scarce.

Gematsu first reported the listings, providing links to the pre-order pages. These pages currently lack images or gameplay information, fueling anticipation for an official announcement.

The leak's timing, just hours before Sony's 40-minute State of Play broadcast, strongly hints at a reveal during the event. While Sony has remained tight-lipped about the show's contents, the possibility of a new Digimon Story game is now highly probable.

The Digimon Story franchise boasts a rich history, beginning with the original Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s. Subsequent releases, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and their Complete Edition (2019), have expanded the series across various platforms. These games typically feature RPG gameplay centered on befriending and battling Digimon.

Following producer Kazumashu Habu's 2022 tease of a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a sequel. While titles like Digimon Survive offered a different experience, a true continuation of the Digimon Story series appears imminent with the Digimon Story: Time Stranger leak.
