The 28th D.I.C.E. Awards have arrived, celebrating the pinnacle of video game excellence from 2024. With 23 categories spotlighting the industry's finest, Astro Bot emerged as the star of the show, clinching the coveted Game of the Year award. This remarkable game also triumphed in Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, showcasing its versatility and innovation.
Other notable games also shone brightly, with Helldivers 2 securing four awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Action Game of the Year, and Online Game of the Year. Both Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle each took home three awards, further highlighting the diversity and quality of this year's lineup.

In addition to celebrating the best games, the D.I.C.E. Awards honored two individuals for their significant contributions to the video game industry. The former Executive Vice President of Operations for Nintendo of America received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to the company and his support for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Meanwhile, Insomniac Games' founder and president, Ted Price, was inducted into the Hall of Fame upon his retirement, recognized for his three decades of leadership and advocacy for video game creators' First Amendment rights.
