Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
This follows a recent string of issues, including a December 2024 matchmaking outage and ongoing reports of cheating and bugs. The current loading screen problem, reported on January 6th, prompted an investigation by Raven Software.
Although the underlying bug remains unfixed (as of January 9th, according to their Trello board), Raven Software has temporarily suspended skill rating penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns about unwarranted punishments due to the glitch. Penalties will still apply for players leaving mid-match.
This temporary fix offers some relief, but the persistent bugs, even after a major January 2025 update, remain a source of frustration for players. The Warzone team is actively working on resolving these issues.
