Black Ops 6: Challenge Tracking and Separate HUD Settings on the Way
Treyarch has confirmed development of two highly anticipated features for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking and separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies.
The challenge tracking feature, absent from Black Ops 6 despite its presence in Modern Warfare 3, is currently under development. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is expected soon, potentially coinciding with the upcoming Season 2 update later this month. This will allow players to monitor their progress towards completing challenges, such as Mastery camos, in real-time within the game's UI, eliminating the need to wait until match completion for updates.
In addition to challenge tracking, Treyarch has also confirmed that separate HUD customization options for Multiplayer and Zombies are "in the works." This addresses player frustration over having to constantly adjust HUD settings when switching between game modes.
A recent January 9th update included various bug fixes for the game's UI and audio, along with an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, this update also reversed a controversial change to the Zombies mode, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics after community feedback. While not directly related to the challenge tracking and HUD features, these updates demonstrate Treyarch's responsiveness to player concerns.
