Author : Adam Apr 01,2025

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025, and congratulations on surviving another full orbit around our fiery solar companion. As we kick off the new year, it's the perfect time to look ahead at the exciting lineup of video game releases slated for 2025. Here's a rundown of the most anticipated titles we know about so far!

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei brings back their iconic musou series with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, marking the first major entry since 2018. This game will harness the power of current-gen hardware to deliver an onslaught of enemies for you to conquer while shouting the iconic battlecry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who enjoy taking down enemies from a distance, Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30. This latest addition to the long-range, Nazi-targeting series sticks to its tried-and-true formula of precision shooting, with a special emphasis on, shall we say, anatomically precise hits. It's coming to all Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
On February 11, dive back into the medieval world with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This sequel continues the journey of Henry of Skalitz in a richly detailed 14th-century Bohemia. With its deep role-playing mechanics and expansive open world, you can steer Henry's path in any direction you choose. The game will be available on current-gen consoles and PC.

Also launching on February 11, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 offers a grand strategy experience spanning millennia. This seventh installment in the legendary series lets you lead a civilization through history, focusing on the four X's: Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate. It's coming to nearly every platform, including Linux, but not mobile at launch.

On February 14, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes Ubisoft's open-world saga to feudal Japan. With dual protagonists, you can experience the life of both a ninja and a samurai. This title will be available on current-gen consoles and PC.

For those looking for a unique Valentine's Day experience, Date Everything! offers a sandbox dating sim where you can romance over 100 anthropomorphized objects, from windows to walls. It's fully voice-acted and coming to PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
On February 18, Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment arrives on Xbox Series consoles and PC. Set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity series, this first-person action RPG promises a more focused experience akin to The Outer Worlds, perfect for those who struggle to finish longer games.

If you're in the mood for some high-seas adventure, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii sets sail on February 21. This game follows Goro Majima as he embarks on a pirate's life after amnesia strikes. It's coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

One of the year's most anticipated titles, Monster Hunter Wilds, launches on February 28 for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Capcom aims to refine the core Monster Hunter experience while introducing new features that leverage current-gen hardware, appealing to both veterans and newcomers.

March 2025

Split Fiction
On March 6, Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios offers a new co-op adventure. This time, you'll join a sci-fi and fantasy author trapped in virtual reality, facing bizarre challenges, including transformations into pigs and hot dogs. One copy allows two players to enjoy the game online, available on PC and current-gen consoles.

On March 25, immerse yourself in the tranquil life of a hobbit with Tales of the Shire. This cozy life sim focuses on the everyday joys of gardening, smoking pipes, and neighborhood rivalries, all set in the peaceful world of the Shire. It's coming to PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Atomfall
Atomfall, launching on March 27, offers a post-apocalyptic take on the English countryside, drawing inspiration from Fallout and Stalker. This survival-focused game explores an alternate history where a nuclear disaster has far-reaching consequences. It will be available on all platforms except Switch.

Also on March 27, The First Berserker: Khazan expands the Dungeon & Fighter universe with a single-player action RPG. It's coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

On March 28, inZOI aims to challenge The Sims with its stunning visuals and innovative gameplay. This South Korean-developed life sim could be a major hit among fans looking for a fresh take on the genre. It launches on PC, with console versions planned for later.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
On April 24, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the return of the beloved fighting game series with its first new entry since 1999. Featuring familiar faces like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, this game is set to launch on both PlayStation platforms, Xbox Series, and PC.
