Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is set to excite fans with their latest venture into the mobile gaming arena with Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the popular Digimon Card Game. Slated for release on both Android and iOS platforms, this free-to-play game promises to bring a fresh twist to the beloved franchise, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

The announcement came during the much-anticipated Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. Alongside Digimon Alysion, Bandai Namco unveiled several other exciting projects. Fans were treated to news of a new arc for Digimon Liberator set to launch in April 2025, a special video marking the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, and the introduction of a new project titled Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Additionally, a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, is in the works for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: Not Just Another Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital clone of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a unique feature called 'DigiAly' cards, alongside the original cards designed specifically for this mobile version. Bandai Namco is also set to enrich the game with new Digimon and characters, adding fresh elements to the gameplay.

The character lineup, as showcased on the official website, leans heavily towards an all-female cast, which marks a distinctive shift from typical digital card game aesthetics. This creative direction has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were anticipating a more direct adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming, and their previous attempts haven't been entirely successful. With two prior failures under their belt, there's a cautious optimism surrounding Digimon Alysion's prospects. Despite these concerns, the anticipation for the game remains high.

A closed beta test is currently being organized, though specifics are yet to be disclosed. For the latest updates and more information, fans can visit the official website or follow their X account.
