How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE
After extensive testing and countless attempts, we've cracked the code to unlock all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. While the stages don't require immense gaming skills or much exploration, they do demand significant Reputation grinding. We're talking a massive amount!
Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE
To start, you need to accumulate 25,000 Reputation points and reach the highest rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and speak with the NPC wearing headphones, Damiro D. Mado, located on the second floor. He'll assign you the Arata Stage 1 quest, which requires you to gather 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.
The quickest way to obtain these is by defeating bosses like Eto and Tatara, shown below, and then crafting the fragments at a crafting station. To check your Reputation, talk to the NPC in a black suit and tie, Saiyo Natsuki, who will give you the details. Once you have all 20 fragments, convert them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. If you struggle with the bosses, our GHOUL://RE Boss and raid guide can help you conquer them swiftly.
Return to Damiro, who will then direct you to speak to “him”. This instruction baffled the GHOUL://RE community until we discovered that “he” was none other than Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, hidden in plain sight.
For your convenience, here's our guide on all NPC locations in GHOUL://RE to help you find them easily.
Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE
For Arata stages 2 and 3, you'll need to play in permadeath (PD) mode to unlock the legendary armor. It's wise to team up with a strong group, as solo missions can be frustrating.
Once you've amassed 100,000 Reputation points, head to the elevator in the C.C.G. building and go to the Laboratory. There, speak to the man with the scalpel, dressed in a black suit, standing next to the door, known as Black Reaper of Doom And Despair.
Hand over the five one-eyed Kokuja fragments along with your 100,000 Reputation, and you'll complete Stage two of obtaining the Arata-Proto armor. There's been much debate online about the necessary reputation points, with some suggesting only 75,000 Reputation is needed, while others mention figures between 90,000 and 100,000. From our experience, 100,000 Reputation points is the safest bet for success.
Remember, you must play the second and third Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE on PD servers. If you don't, you'll receive a repeated response from the Black Reaper and will not complete Arata Stage 2, nor gain access to Arata Stage 3.

The final Arata Stage also involves "The Scalpel Guy," some fragments, and a significant amount of cash. Like the second stage, you must be in PD mode to progress towards the epic armor.
Once you have a single one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen, visit Black Reaper of Doom And Despair again in the C.C.G. building. After paying him, he'll teleport you to face the Kishou Arima boss.
To defeat this boss, you'll need at least average gaming skills. Prepare for a lot of jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing high damage. Kishou Arima isn't unbeatable, and with practice, even players of moderate skill can take him down.
Be aware that many players might die during this encounter, possibly multiple times. Stock up on resources beforehand. Each repeated attempt will require an additional one-eyed Kakuja fragment and an extra 500,000 Yen.
Once you finally defeat Kishou Arima, you'll unlock the Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. However, be cautious; while Arata armor provides incredible buffs and protection, it can also be harmful to your character, as outlined below.
Arata Armor Tips & Tricks
Arata-Proto Armor Buffs
Arata is a formidable armor, but it drains your hunger at an alarming rate while worn. You also can't eat while wearing Arata in any stage, so you'll need to remove Arata to replenish your hunger levels.
However, the benefits are substantial. The most significant advantage is that you can't be ragdolled while wearing Arata, a huge boost in any game scenario.
Arata also boosts your equipment. While wearing the armor, your character becomes increasingly "tanky", capable of both taking and dealing immense damage. If the armor depletes your hunger during a fight, it will start consuming your health bar. Be cautious, especially in boss fights, and consider removing it when it becomes too risky to continue wearing it.
Reputation Grinding
The fastest way to gather the required Reputation is by fighting bosses in PD mode. We know it's risky, but each boss killed in PD grants you 1,500 Reputation, far more than the 500 you'd get outside PD. Unfortunately, killing Ghouls only yields 100 Reputation per kill, making them less efficient for grinding during Arata quests.
