Belote is a trick-taking card game played by four players in two partnerships. The game is played with a 32-card deck (7 through Ace). The goal of the game is to collect more points than the opposing team.
The game begins with the selection of a trump suit. Players bid on the number of tricks they believe they can take with the trump suit. If a player believes they cannot take any tricks, they may pass.
